Every
person in the world needs a minimum of 4.55 litres of water a day
for cooking and drinking.
A person needs an additional 23 litres to remain healthy and clean.
The average Canadian uses 450 litres per day.

FORESTS
|
Both developed and developing countries cut down about the same number
of trees per year, but we use them differently.
Half of all the trees cut are used for fuel - 20% used by developed
countries, (the North), 80% by developing countries (the South).
40% of the trees cut are used for construction - 75% by the North
and 25% by the South.
One-tenth of all trees cut are used for paper - 87% by the North
and 13% by the South.
